Online Tracking

We decided we will be tracking the participants online by using a Spot tracking device. You can rent a Spot out for 1000Kč (~40€) + 3000Kč (~120€) refundable deposit. You don’t need to pay the deposit if you are a member of the WOLFman team, or a pathfinder. 

If you own a Spot tracking device of 3rd or 4th generations and are renting tracking services at https://www.findmespot.com, you can use it and save some money.

If a Spot device you’ve rented gets lost, damaged, or broken during the race, you will be charged the same 3000Kč you put in as a deposit. 

The Spot device we offer allows a WOLFman participant to not worry about anything, as the device is water, dust, and fool-proof, and its battery lasts many days. The Spot uses 4 widely-available micro batteries, so you don’t need electricity to be charging any sort of internal battery. If you buy high-quality lithium batteries, you won’t need to swap them out during the race at all. This also was the main reason behind the decision to buy and use Spot devices in particular. There would be nothing worse than to have to worry about electronics during a race like this – it would add extra weight, limit your movement with its need to get charged, and it would be prone to breaking.
